Antonio Arantes

Research Analyst, European Mobile Devices

António Arantes is a research analyst for the European Mobile Devices team. Based in London, Antonio oversees IDC’s European Quarterly Smart Home Device Tracker, looking at market trends and vendor strategies and performance. In his research, Antonio also focuses on technology forecasts, and contributes to the mobile phone, wearables, and AR/VR trackers.

Before joining IDC, Arantes worked as a store controller for Media Markt in Portugal. At university, he had several roles at the students’ association, where he was responsible for developing a number of events.

Arantes studied management and has a post-graduate degree in marketing and strategy, both from Minho University. He is fluent in English and Portuguese.
