This IDC Survey Spotlight examines the resources SMBs use to maintain and manage IT based on SMB size. It finds that the smallest SMBs tend to use pay-as-you-go support, remote online support, and IT maintenance contracts for most of their IT needs. These types of IT resources are designed to keep businesses up and running, not to help SMBs think strategically about leaning into technology and digital transformation.
