This IDC Perspective examines how SMBs are implementing sustainability and ESG initiatives in their operational strategies. This IDC Perspective examines the underlying reasons for organizations that have not yet implemented sustainability and ESG and provides recommendations and a case for how and why SMBs can implement them.
"Most SMBs recognize the importance of sustainability and ESG, and many are actively engaging in efforts to implement sustainability measures in their operations. However, perception of cost remains the top challenge. Yet, it is no longer necessarily the case that sustainability is high cost to implement, and companies should consider it as a hedge against risks and a long-term cost saving measure," says Elisabeth Clemmons, research analyst, Worldwide Thought Leadership Group at IDC.
