Abstract
This IDC Survey examines selected results from three consumer surveys to look at how consumer engagement with digital services and experiences changed across the pre-, mid-, and post-pandemic periods. Areas of focus in this presentation include streaming video and audio, social media, gaming, fitness, and shopping. Generational differences are also highlighted.
"The COVID-19 pandemic accelerated consumer engagement with many digital services," said Marlanna Bozicevich, associate project analyst for IDC's Device and Consumer research. "Survey results show clear increased engagement followed by some post-pandemic pullback. However, many behavior shifts persist and create opportunities for vendors in a range of consumer market segments."
