This IDC Survey Spotlight presents key AI applications for video platform software from IDC's February 2024 Video Platforms Survey and the benefits of GenAI for the business. AI and GenAI are sought to improve employee productivity and customer insights, which benefits the organization and encourages wider use of video in information sharing and communications.
"The introduction of generative AI expands the creation and use of video, improving productivity and accurately reflecting customer needs," states Marci Maddox, research vice president, Digital Experience Strategies at IDC. "Video usage in workplaces has increased, but most organizations lack an enterprisewide video strategy, leaving untapped potential for asynchronous communications and data collection."
