Abstract

This IDC Perspective highlights the key announcements and top trends discussed during the 2024 Oracle Hospitality Summit which was held on April 8–11 at the Loews Resort in Orlando, Florida. The event marked a significant moment for the hospitality industry's shift toward cloud-based solutions and integrated platforms. With attendees from 252 Oracle customers including hotels, brands, and real estate investment trusts (REITs), the event showcased Oracle's commitment to innovation, integration, and customer service in the hospitality sector. Key announcements and trends from the summit emphasized Oracle's focus on removing business friction, deepening product integration, and enhancing customer loyalty through its Oracle OPERA Cloud and Oracle Hospitality Integration Platform (OHIP).

"The hospitality industry is at an inflection point. There is a drive to innovate and a willingness to reimagine business strategies to drive revenue but hoteliers often feel that current ecosystems are not built for how hospitality organizations operate," says Dorothy Creamer, senior research manager, Hospitality and Travel Digital Strategies at IDC. "The Oracle Hospitality Summit presented a road map for customers and partners on what the future of hospitality can and should look like with robust integration strategies and embedded innovation and security. Oracle offered insights into its strategies and offerings to strengthen its position as a partner for all segments and sizes of hospitality while leveraging strength from the broader Oracle portfolio."
