Abstract


This IDC Market Presentation leverages multiple consumer-focused surveys to better understand the way millennials think about technology and the companies that provide it. Millennials have aged into a large and active role in making technology-buying decisions for their organizations, and they represent a major opportunity for companies that are savvy about understanding their wants and needs as consumers and ITDMs. "Millennials think differently than both their older peers (Gen X and boomers) and their younger colleagues (Gen Z)," said Tom Mainelli, IDC's GVP for Device and Consumer research. "They represent the sweet spot for many tech companies, open to new technologies without carrying too much negative brand-awareness baggage."
