James Eibisch is a research director in IDC's EMEA Telecoms and Networking research group, and provides analysis, primary research and market sizing on the opportunities for telcos in the Third Platform.

Eibisch has led primary research, consulting, and go-to-market projects on topics including business network services, carrier-neutral colocation, and cloud & hosting services. Clients include network, datacenter and IT service providers, hardware vendors, domestic and international government agencies, and investment banks.

Eibisch joined IDC in 1998 to cover the European market for Internet access, IP VPNs, Web hosting, and application service providers (ASPs). Before IDC, he researched the Internet and intranet services markets for INPUT, and before that wrote on UNIX systems and software products for Datapro Information Services Group.
