Krishna Chinta

Program Manager, Telecoms & Networking, Middle East and Africa


Krishna Chinta joined IDC in April 2012 as a senior analyst responsible for consulting and syndicated research projects in the Middle East, Africa, and Turkey region.  He has close to seven years experience in telecommunications market research, with a special focus on emerging markets.

Before joining IDC, he worked for Ovum, an Indian IT and telecom research and consulting firm, where he gained a strong understanding of telecom industry dynamics and operator strategies. His prime focus was on telecommunications policy and regulatory aspects. He also tracked operator strategies and their performance on a regular basis, and carried out extensive research into mobile handset specs, optical network equipment specs and contracts, and pricing patterns in telecom consumer services.

Prior to Ovum, Chinta was for almost two years with Evalueserve, a knowledge process outsourcing company, where he worked on diverse areas of the ICT sector. Before specializing in telecom consulting and research, he spent nearly five years in India’s telecom cables and optic fiber manufacturing industry.

Chinta graduated from the Indian Institute of Planning and Management, where he gained an MBA in marketing and finance. He is fluent in English, Hindi, and Telugu.
