Nino Giguashvili

Senior Research Analyst

Nino Giguashvili is a senior research analyst at IDC Health Insights for Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (CEMA). Ms. Giguashvili's core research covers ICT developments in the healthcare markets of CEMA, analyzing key technology and business issues facing the payers, providers, and ICT vendors and offering in-depth insights into the primary factors shaping the industry in the region. Based on her extensive background in medicine and public health, her research puts a particular emphasis on the best practices and technology innovation in clinical care, disease prevention and population health management, analyzing current trends and future prospects for the use of the 3rd Platform technologies (mobile, big data/analytics, cloud, and social media) and emerging innovative technologies, such as the Internet of Things, cognitive systems, and robotics.  

BACKGROUND

Ms. Giguashvili brings more than ten years of policy, healthcare, and research experience to her analytical role at IDC Health Insights. Prior to joining IDC in 2012, she worked at Abt Associates, providing policy and advisory support to the Ministry of Health, Labor, and Social Affairs of Georgia on healthcare reform, policy, and finance issues. Prior to that, she worked at the Rockefeller Institute of Government in Albany, NY, U.S., providing analytical support to the Fiscal Studies Program on public policy issues. She has also worked with various international agencies, such as USAID, UNICEF, Oxfam, and the Open Society Institute, managing projects in the areas of public health and social care, with her most recent experience focused on examining the intersection of healthcare and information technology. In addition to her native Georgian, she speaks English and Russian.
