Eckhardt Fischer

Senior Research Analyst, European Server Team

Eckhardt Fischer joined IDC’s European Server Team as a research analyst in March 2014. Within the European Enterprise Server Group, he focuses on server architectures, datacenter build-out, and cloud topics.

Fischer is a South African national, a native English- and Afrikaans-speaker with full command of German. He is based out of the Frankfurt office, and contributes to data analysis in the frame of the IDC EMEA Server and Converged Systems Trackers. He also produces content for the European Datacenter and Server Infrastructure CIS and supports consulting projects on datacenter-related matters.

Prior to joining IDC, Fischer was a marketing consultant for Crinata, where he led strategic market research projects in the leisure and hotel industry, including analysis in the technology aspects related to opening a new hotel facility. He previously worked in Germany in the marketing department of Publicitas GmbH. He holds a BSc in corporate communications from the University of Johannesburg.
