Setting up API Access
IDC offers three distinct APIs, and each requires slightly different information to call them. To enable API access, customers will require API keys for any API you will call from your code.
To set up your REST API access:
- Request access by contacting IDC Technical Support at idc_support@idc.com and specify the subscribed products you would like to access via API.
- Once approved, you will be delivered requested API Keys and/or secrets from IDC in a secure way via Keeper Security a Password Management and Privileged Access Management (PAM) Solution to avoid unsecure email information trasfer.
API | Information needed to authorize |
Research Documents API | ClientID Secret |
Data API | API Key |
Services Contract Database | API Key |
Keep the credentials like a password
Every API key or (Secret) is a secret token that authenticates your API requests and should be treated like a password and never expose it publicly.
At set up, it is important to provide IDC with a list of technical contacts (email addresses) for any changes in the REST API or the data structure that may need to be communicated by IDC. Any changes to your technical contact list can be communicated to IDC by emailing idc_support@idc.com .
