Setting Up SFTP Access
There are two different SFTP servers operated by IDC that are used to deliver the content:
- One for Research Documents- sftp://intranet.idc.com:9922
- One for data products – sftp://sftp.idc.com:22
- Trackers
- Spending Guides
- Wallet products
- Channel Partner Ecosystem (CPE)
Services Contract Database does not provide SFTP delivery option and can be only delivered through Servies Contract Database API.
Requesting SFTP Access
To request SFTP set up for your account, please contact IDC through your IDC Account Manager or IDC Technical Support at idc_support@idc.com. Once approved, IDC will provide an SFTP account for you and share the credentials in a secure way via Keeper Security: Password Management and Privileged Access Management (PAM) Solution. These credentials include:
- For Research Documents SFTP server
- An SFTP username (login name)
- Password
- For Data Files
- An SFTP username (login name).
- An SSH private key file (for key-based authentication).
- A passphrase for the private key (if one is set).
Note: IDC uses key-based authentication for SFTP for security for the data files. You typically will not have a plaintext password; instead, you use the provided private key (along with the username) to authenticate.
At set up, it is important to provide IDC with a list of technical contacts (email addresses) for any changes in the SFTP integration technology or protocol that may need to be communicated. Any changes to your technical contact list can be communicated to IDC by emailing idc_support@idc.com.
