Digital marketing vs. Sales conversations. We’re all talking, but what is the buyer hearing?

Marketing and sales conversations with buyers today are happening in parallel, and what results is critical—the buying community doesn’t receive the message they need or expect from the organization (or brand). You may witness this through lack of engagement. You have an abundance of marketing content that is in market, several sales pitches and yet no one is engaging at a volume that matches the effort.

Quotation Guidelines for the Press

To help the press maximize the value of IDC’s global market intelligence and advice, and to ensure the accuracy, and proper context of IDC sourced intelligence, we have created the following guidelines:

  • When using IDC content or data, you must provide the following attribution, “Source: IDC.”
  • Where possible we ask that an IDC analyst’s official title accompanies his or her name.
  • In cases where your quote is based on research from an IDC document, we would ask that you cite the name of the report, followed by the month and year it was published. Reproducing IDC research and materials in their entirety or in large parts, requires prior written approval.

If you have any questions regarding these guidelines, please call the press hotline at +1 508 935 4200 or email press@idc.com.

For companies wishing to quote IDC in press releases, please submit your request to permissions@idc.com.

Press FAQ

Who can register as press?

If you have a press id number, please provide it when filling in the registration form. If you do not have an id number, or are a freelance journalist, please provide further credentials in the ‘additional comments’ section. Your form will be reviewed by a member of the IDC PR team who will contact you in due course.

Why does IDC not provide free access to all its research?

IDC invests considerable financial and intellectual capital in its research. Analysts spend weeks and months researching and writing reports, developing insights and forecasts, and drawing important conclusions about various technology markets. In order to protect these investments and maintain the value of its research, IDC must be selective about when and how its research is presented in the public domain.

How can I set up an interview with an IDC analyst?

Please go to the Press Contacts section and contact a member of your regional team. They will endeavour to put you in touch with the most relevant IDC analyst as soon as possible. Alternatively you may request to receive a list of IDC analyst contacts by region with extensive information on analyst coverage areas, and their direct contact details. IDC supports direct journalist-analyst relationships.

Does IDC provide historical data?

Although IDC has been following the ICT marketplace for more than 40 years, we cannot guarantee that historical data will be available for every market. If you have a request for historical data, please let us know and we will investigate whether the request can be fulfilled.

Will IDC analysts write editorial pieces or contribute whole articles?

Yes, IDC would certainly consider such requests. Please contact a member of your regional press team for further information.

Can journalists register to attend IDC webcasts?

IDC Webinars are also open to the press. Please select the webinars you wish to attend and follow the instructions to register on IDC.com.

Can journalists attend IDC events?

In most cases journalists will be able to attend IDC events and the admission fee will be waived. Please note that travel and accommodation fees will need to be covered by yourself/your publication.
